Partially as part of a class and partially for my own development/amusement, at the beginning of 2019 I embarked on a ‘100 Days of Making’ challenge. The journey is to make something new along a theme every day,.
I chose spaceships. One day I created a new 3d model of a spaceship in Blender 2.8, the next I animated it.
Final Presentation with some musings about the process.
Today’s spaceship is a stealth ship, for when you need to be sneaky in space.
I used the F-117 Nighthawk as a modelling reference
Today I animated the shCargo ship arriving, picking up containers, and leaving. I also learned a new word, greeble, which is the randomly scattered simple shapes that give the appearance of complex detail to a large scene. The world here has my first attempt at greebling.
I’ve spent the beginning of 2019 in Chicago, and used that as the basis of today’s spaceship. It’s a ship that carries cargo. It is called shiCargo.
Inspired by the namesake (or at least name-similar) city, this ship is meant to carry vast loads of space cargo to all the various space people that need it
Here’s a render with yesterday’s ship for scale:
